Mid Century Modernist William Plunkett Leather Bentwood Armchair
William Plunkett
Product description
William Plunkett is a key figure in post War British design, who employed his knowledge of engineering with a flair for sculptural design to create some of the most iconic furniture of the 60s period. Plunkett is best known for his designs for the QE2. Unusual for the time, Plunkett not only designed his furniture but also manufactured it himself on a small scale, often for prestigious commissions.
The bentwood back has been stripped and re-polished, and the chair has been re-upholstered in black leather. The steel frames have been given a light polish .
