1960s Grete Jalk Lounge Chair for France & Son
Recognised asone of the most important post war Danish modernist designers, Grete Jalk worked at a time when women were a rarity in the design world. Through her long career, she did much to enhance Denmark's reputation for modern furniture design with her clear comfortable lines. By embracing social and technological change, Jalk designed furniture that adapted to suit the consumers needs in the evolving modern home.
This beautifully sculpted teak lounge chair was designed in 1960 by Grete Jalk for France and Son. The curved armrests and contoured back slats offer an exceptional seating experience. Given its age, the teak frame and the original raspberry red vinyl upholstery is in excellent condition. The frames are in fine condition with typical wear for the chairs age.
The craftmanship, detailing and design, make the perfect addition to any modern home and a future design classic.
