Poul Cadovius Model 211 Rosewood Cube Chair for France & Son
Through his interest in industrial design, Poul Cadovius had a significant influence on Danish modernist furniture. Arguably one of the Danish furniture industry's biggest successes, Poul Cadovius designed the floating modular shelving system ROYAL SYSTEM® as a means of freeing up valuable floor space from ever-increasing clutter.
With his acquisition of France & Son, Cadovius collaborated with a number of iconic Danish designers. His minimalistic aesthetic is a perfect harmony between form and function; industrial and organic; affordable and elegant - a legacy that has inspired generations of designers.
Designed in 1963, the Model 211 chair is an iconic masterpiece. The frame is made of rosewood, and the sled legs create the sense of space around the modular shell. The square weaves on the frame exterior mirrors the geometric shape of the chair.
Replacment foam and a striking Designers Guild raspberry cotton velvet used to re-upholster the cushions, provide the finishing touches to a wonderful chair that will make a great addition to the modern home>
This is a true collecters piece.
