Willy Rizzo Smoked Glass Brass Mobile Bar Drinks Trolley
Italian designer and photographer Willy Rizzo came to prominence in the 1960s as a chronicler of and participant in La Dolce Vita: the glamorous, jet set lifestyle enjoyed by many international celebrities and socialites in the postwar era. While photography was Rizzo's first love, in the 1970s he developed a passion for interiors and launched a second successful career as a luxury furniture designer.
With an emphasis on clean lines and geometric forms, Rizzo's furniture and accessories combined contemporary shapes with traditional materials. This unit is thought to have been designed by DM2 to be used by Willy Rizzo himself. The high quality tempered smoked glass top opens to reveal a beautiful brass interior, with six vodka glasses specifically shaped to prevent the vodka from freezing. The unit's external brass trim has the Rizzo signature oblique corners.
The unit can be used as either a normal fridge, or as a super-cold vodka fridge. The internal light highlights the contents of the fridge, and the unit is on castors so can be easily transported. The unit has been cleaned, and the electrics have been tested.
This is a truly a unique, beautiful piece.
